On World No Tobacco Day (31 May), the World Health Organization draws attention to the damage caused by tobacco to lung health: more than 40% of tobacco-related deaths are attributable to lung diseases such as cancer, chronic respiratory diseases, and tuberculosis. WHO is calling on countries and partners to take more action to protect people from tobacco exposure.
