Whose paradigm counts? An Australia-Pacific perspective on unheard voices in food and water systems

The views and knowledge of First Nations and Pacific Islanders are frequently absent or ignored from decision-making procedures that have a significant influence on these communities. Although having different traditions and customs, First Nations and Pacific Islanders frequently have comparable experiences with the food system. The George Institute supported a process where community priorities, strengths, and solutions are shared and heard, drawing international attention to local challenges. This approach involved sharing case studies and other resources in the feedback process for the UN Food System Summit 2021.
